In keeping with Thessaloniki’s smart and sustainable city efforts to achieve transparency, modernization and economic competitiveness, the city has established an Open Data initiative. Through the sharing of public sector and private sector data from – government departments, businesses, NGO’s, and citizens – this dashboard is intended to serve as a hub for sharing data. The goal of the Open Data initiative is to foster data-based decision making, promote public use of data, increase business opportunities and local growth, encourage academic uses of data, and strengthen overall citizen engagement.
